Socialize a little OP, even if it turns out you don't want to be part of a corp you'll be amazed what simply having a circle of friends you chat to or share channels with each day will do. Entertainment, inspiration, education, ideas and inevitably .. dragging each other around on adventures and stuff.
Like many players my earliest days were spent mining. I'd often chat to folks in local or join channels I heard about and you just make friends and contacts over time. Don't let the general anti-socialness of a vast majority of EVE players you encounter discourage you. I was eventually dragged to lowsec by a friend, then into PVP by another, then later into wormholes (and now even null by another, urrhhg thx Jester). Haven't looked back since.

And aside from the "big corps" that are newbie friendly I'm sure if you poke around the recruiting forum you'll find a ton of smaller corporations too in wormholes that are very accepting of newbros.
Good luck!

Lissandra Icebornx wrote:cool thanks, some really interesting things I can do to improve the more social side for my eve, I do need contacts and build friendships, I do need to get put there more rather than being solo and stuck in a rut, I will do my research and joining channels ect. Hopefully I will find my place in eve alot easier :) You'll be surprised. For a game that appears so anti-social and harsh on the surface you'll actually find some of the most amazing people here if you scratch the surface a little.
Though on the topic of 'solo' I also believe there's nothing wrong with doing your own thing really. I spent 3+ years in my own corps doing my own thing, but the thing is I had friends by my side who shared the experiences too. We just weren't in the same corp. Though joining one is certainly a great way to accelerate things, or help you if you have trouble meeting folks on your own.
I may be Aimee from nullsec but I highly recommend wormholes too! Best part of the game in my opinion...
